Stephanie Woodhead

Stephanie worked for many years in insurance but for health reasons left this industry and over the years has spent time volunteering at the Mental Health Helpline, Blackpool Carers Centre and Highfurlong School. She has also enjoyed delivering pain management and diabetes courses for Wyre and Fylde PCT.

Whilst volunteering with Highfurlong School and supporting their enterprise lessons Stephanie became aware of the desperate need for a social group and somewhere for the young people to continue learning and developing life skills through enterprise. As a volunteer Stephanie assisted Helen with the pilot of RISE at Blackpool Carers Centre and from then on was passionate about wanting the project to continue and grow.

When the pandemic hit and staff were furloughed, Stephanie stepped up in her volunteer role to ensure our families were offered support by making weekly calls to the parents and carers. After many years of volunteering and much dedication, Stephanie now runs sessions for the RISE Project offering wellbeing therapy through arts and crafts. She is an essential pillar of support for our families and compliments the team with her passion and drive. She says she couldn’t be happier than when she is working with such amazing young people.
