Work Experience Project

Our Work Experience Project(WEP) team is passionate about realising the potential of differently abled people. We recognise that every person has unique skills and strengths which need to be identified and fulfilled.

The WEP was adopted by Blackpool Carers Centre in 2014. The project was offered to the special schools across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre and at this time Redmarsh and Highfurlong School used the service. Over the years the project has changed and adapted and we now work in partnership with Highfurlong School and Park Community Academy. We provide their students with meaningful, bespoke work experience placements that give them an insight into the world of work and help them to develop their employment skills and confidence.

The placements we source within local businesses are not only beneficial for the students but also rewarding for both the employers and employees as we ensure we make the perfect match. In doing this we have built some strong relationships with many employers and it is rewarding to see how they all benefit from this experience.
